COVID-19 Decontamination

23 March 2020

Dear Parent/Carers,

We hope you are all well and healthy.

We are focused on supporting critical ‘key workers’ and vulnerable children, with our excellent quality childcare and early years education, so they can get to work with peace of mind.

We are taking the following extra actions during this difficult period.

Covid:19 Decontamination

Although we have no reported cases of Covid:19 virus affecting our staff, parents or children, nevertheless we are taking extra care.

Sunny Days Nurseries settings in Bridport and Dorchester were professionally decontaminated yesterday, Sunday 22nd March, in readiness for providing childcare and early years education for vulnerable children, and for children of critical ‘key workers’ from today Monday 23rd March.

Decontamination kills the Covid:19 virus. Children, parents, and our staff can be assured of a totally hygienic environment at Sunny Days.

The decontamination treatments by Clinical Clean guarantees to kill 99.99% of all germs and viruses, including Coronavirus: Covid:19, and the treatment lasts for 6 months.

Covid:19 Decontamination Zone

During this period, after decontamination, parents will drop off and collect in receptions only. All deliveries and other visitors will be limited to reception areas. Please ensure your hands are clean before you enter our receptions and then use the hand sanitiser provided before you leave. This measure is being taken to limit the risk of further contamination. The nursery environment will be accessible by children and Sunny Days staff only.

Continuous Cleaning

Our staff teams are continuously cleaning, and we have dedicated cleaning staff, to ensure hygiene standards are maintained to the highest levels. The cleaning practices and procedures are being undertaken continuously to a higher level.

Hand Washing

Extra and regular hand washing for all children and staff, singing and hand washing together.

Don’t touch your eyes and mouth and nose

“Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes.
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes.
And eyes and ears and mouth and mouth and nose.
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes, knees and toes.”

Infection Control Training

All staff are undertaking refresher infection control training this week.

Sunny Days Staff

Sunny Days staff are also ‘key worker’s, working to ensure other critical ‘key workers’ can get to work whilst their children are cared for in a fun happy safe and hygienic clinically clean environment. Our staff will continue to practice all of the above, and will continue to wipe runny noses, help children with their toileting, change nappies, comfort children if they are unsettled in anyway, teach them, and give them endless fun laughter and happiness, through play and continuous learning. Our childcare team cannot practice social distancing whilst at work caring for your ‘key workers’ children, so please only use our services if you are ‘key workers’ and must work, and your ‘key workers’ have nobody at home to care for their children. Thank You.
