Hello,

My name is Victoria McNamee and I have worked in childcare for 14 years. Before that I volunteered at the local toddler group, youth club and brownies. I have always been passionate about childcare and know it was want I wanted to do since my sister was born, when I was just 5!

I have worked in a variety of settings such as the local school, preschool and afterschool club in Cornwall when I was first qualified to then becoming a childminders assistant. I progressed to being a Childminder myself in 2016 before relocating to Devon in 2020 and setting foot in Nurseries. I started as a nursery nurse and very quickly worked my way up to room leader in November of 2020 then I joined the Sunny Days team in November 2021 as Deputy manager before taking over as Manager this July.

I thoroughly love my job and the children we work with, and I strive to create a warm and friendly environment where the children can thrive and achieve the best they can.

Babies: 3 months – 2 years

The same key carers will look after your baby each day on a 1:3 adult to child ratio. Whilst your child is in the baby room, we will work with you to ensure that their time at Sunny Days follows your routine at home as closely as possible. We will also support and encourage them in meeting those precious milestones, such as crawling and learning to walk!

To welcome babies into the nursery, we offer a number of settling in sessions. Parents are invited to stay, or remain close by, to ensure their baby is comfortable and settled before leaving them

Breakfast, lunch and snacks are included for babies who have been weaned, and we also supply water and formula milk (from brands including Hipp Organic, SMA and Cow & Gate) as well as cow’s milk and plant-based milk.

We provide nappies, wipes, creams and sun cream, so all you need to pack is a change of clothes, some weather appropriate accessories for outdoor play, and any comforters you’d like them to have.

These brilliant meal plans are brought to life by our in-house Children’s Chef using fresh ingredients which are delivered daily. We prepare breakfast,  morning & afternoon snacks, and a 2-course hot lunch for each of our little ones, making sure they’ve got all the energy they need for a day full of adventures!

At Sunny Days, little ones spend their days with us learning through play.

Activities are carefully designed to engage children in fun and educational experiences that support their physical, emotional and cognitive development.

Outdoor play area

Nursery activities often include opportunities for outdoor play with regular trips to the park and local attractions.

Colourful lego bricks and toy car

We provide a variety of tabletop, floor and tuff tray activities that support children’s curiosity and exploratory skills – the children love messy, sensory play such as making play dough and having fun with slime!

Children reading a book

We help nurture a love of reading by having books in every room, because they take us on adventures and help us learn new things!

Children playing together having fun

The children have lots of fun playing group games which are designed to promote social interaction, language development and physical coordination.

Crafts are often based on upcoming celebrations, such as Easter, Diwali festival, St Patrick’s Day, and Roald Dahl Day!
